Many people enjoy showcasing their talents in front of large crowds, but not everyone has the opportunity to perform for royalty. The young girls presented in this footage were lucky enough to have that once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The Poppy Girls comprise of five skilled singers: Bethany, Megan, Charlotte, Florence, and Alice. Each of these girls is the daughter of a military personnel from the Royal Navy, Army, or Royal Air Force.
This exceptionally talented singing group had the amazing opportunity to showcase their skills for the Queen, but what unfolded during their performance was beyond anyone’s expectations. Their performance truly shined, yet an unexpected turn of events was about to happen.
The Poppy Girls gained popularity after their unforgettable audition on Britain’s Got Talent. Their audition led them to present their talents in front of the Queen during the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance.
The song they selected to perform, The Call (No Need to Say Goodbye), carries profound personal significance. It is a poignant ballad dedicated to all the young girls whose fathers are serving the nation.
As the song came to an end, the crowd erupted into applause, and it seemed like the performers were preparing to exit the stage. However, in that moment, the host stepped forward to reveal that Megan’s father could not be present at the performance as he was deployed in the Indian Ocean.
What Megan did not know was that a special surprise awaited her just offstage. You can witness this heartwarming moment in the video below.
