Prior to her appearance on the AGT stage, Gabriella shared her dreams in a pre-show segment. “This is a chance of a lifetime for me,” she expressed, “to chase my ultimate goal, which is to create music for the rest of my days.”

Hailing from Quebec, the artist graced the stage with her violin, commencing her audition with a graceful solo piece.

Although judges Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, and Heidi Klum were visibly entranced by her performance, Simon Cowell seemed less impressed. His hand lingered over the red buzzer, indicating his readiness to interrupt her. However, Gabriella had a delightful surprise in store.

Transitioning from playing to singing, Gabriella embarked on a heartfelt interpretation of James Blunt’s “Goodbye My Lover.” Her remarkable voice immediately captured Cowell’s attention, prompting him to retract his hand from the buzzer.

The performance garnered a standing ovation from both the judges and the audience, with Cowell himself joining in the applause. Unanimously, the panel decided to advance her to the next stage of the competition.

Nevertheless, Gabriella’s journey on AGT is just unfolding. Her audition was featured in the concluding phase of the season’s auditions, episode eight.

Out of over 150 acts receiving affirmations this season, only 36 will proceed to the live shows. Fans will have to await the show’s return following a three-week break to discover if Gabriella will secure a spot among the finalists.

Gabriella made her television debut in 2019, participating in the second season of France’s Destination Eurovision. Her song, “On cherche encore (Never Get Enough),” swiftly gained popularity with fans.

Regrettably, despite her strong following, she was eliminated during the semi-finals. The contest concluded with Bilal Hassani emerging victorious with his track “Roi.”

Gabriella Laberge’s audition for AGT marks a notable milestone in her career, showcasing her extraordinary talent to a global audience and reigniting enthusiasm among her Eurovision admirers.

Irrespective of her progression to the live shows, her emotive performance has left a lasting impact on both the viewers and the judges.
