Subsequent to a medical procedure for an enlarged prostate, King Charles has been diagnosed with a type of cancer. The monarch in charge has been undergoing weekly therapies ever since and divides his time between London and Sandrigham.
An initial statement from Buckingham Palace stated: “While His Majesty underwent a recent hospital procedure for a non-threatening enlargement of the prostate, a separate matter of concern was identified. After further diagnostic examinations, a form of cancer was identified.

“The King has now commenced a regimen of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by medical professionals to defer public engagements. During this period, His Majesty will continue to conduct State affairs and official paperwork as per usual.”
A source informed the Daily Mail that King Charles is “in good spirits,” however, it is anticipated that he will take an extended break from his royal duties.
Prince Harry, his younger son, who paid a visit back to Britain to see his father shortly after the diagnosis was unveiled, reportedly offered to step in and assist while his father undergoes cancer treatment. Nevertheless, aides from Buckingham Palace allegedly remarked that there was “no possibility” of Prince Harry being permitted to work for the royal family during his father’s illness.
Even though the palace has not disclosed much about Charles’ health condition, a recent report from the Daily Beast – echoed by TMZ – suggested that the King’s health is deteriorating.
The publication mentions that while there have been a few public appearances where his Royal Highness seemed well, the actual gravity of his health is different.

According to the publication, the King’s aides are revising his funeral plans regularly. There is reportedly a codename for these plans, ‘Operation Menai Bridge.’
“Naturally, his determination to overcome this is resolute and they are putting forth all efforts. Everyone remains positive, but his health is indeed critical. More than what is being disclosed,” said a source to TMZ.
Considering his age and health status, it’s only fitting that arrangements for his funeral are being contemplated.
‘Operation Menai Bridge’ is projected to unfold similarly to ‘Operation London Bridge’ following the Queen’s passing. When this operation commences, the next in line for the throne, William, Prince of Wales, would ascend as king alongside his spouse Kate Middleton, who is expected to be crowned Queen Consort.
The new monarch would deliver an address to the nation, echoing Charles’s speech on September 9, and a period of national mourning would be observed by the public leading up to the funeral.
Just like with the Queen, the prime minister would be informed by the Kin’s private secretary, alongside notification to the King’s Privy Council Office.
Government department permanent secretaries would receive a pre-prepared message to inform ministers about this news. Simultaneously, the cabinet secretary would dispatch an email to senior civil servants, following which flags across Whitehall would be lowered to half-mast.
The deceased monarch will lie in repose at the Palace of Westminster for public mourning, and it is expected that his final resting place will be in the royal tomb within the King George VI Memorial Chapel at Windsor Castle.
“The palace is projecting that Charles is on the path to recovery, however, his health is still in a delicate state,” an anonymous source revealed to In Touch in a recent conversation. “Officials will ensure that the king’s funeral adheres to his preferences and anticipations while following proper procedures.”
We sincerely hope for the King’s complete recovery.
